Roohi

Roohi Singh is a Program Manager at The Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City. She is a passionate advocate for social justice and equity with a background in fundraising, organizational communication, and program development. She specializes in distilling complex issues, developing creative narratives, and finding effective policy solutions rooted in a community-first approach. 

She recently graduated from Columbia University with a Master’s in Public Administration, focusing on Urban Policy, Management, and Communications. As a full-time student, Roohi also worked as a Consultant at Root to Bloom and helped mission-driven social enterprises strategically scale their social impact work.

Before graduate school, Roohi was a Development Associate at an Oakland-based nonprofit, ICA.Fund, investing in Black and Brown entrepreneurs to close the racial and gender wealth gaps. She gained extensive experience in grant writing, stakeholder engagement, and project management. She developed numerous proposals, presentations, newsletters, and impact reports that transformed programmatic ideas and progress into mission-aligned funding support. Roohi graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Studies.

In her spare time, Roohi enjoys going on long walks, caring for her house plants, and finding new things to try in New York.
